Property Summary
The clients needed to extend their family living space across the full span of the rear of their property. This had its challenges due to supporting the open plan expanse to be created.
Challenges
To achieve the desired space the existing property needed reconfiguring and extending to provide a spacious kitchen, dining and lounge area. In opening up the interior space and loosing the external wall across the full span of the house the extension needed to be carefully thought through to achieve the layout the clients required.
The client knew their cottage had potential to be transformed. In benefitting from BDS Architecture’s design service followed by their project management and build service the property was transformed beyond their imagination. A well thought out project was completed on time and on budget. The client was extremely happy with the completed work.
The Solution
BDS Architecture designed the extension spanning the rear of the property incorporating the necessary structural beams and columns to support a vaulted ceiling. The ground floor interior rooms were reconfigured to create a light and airy family living space.
The Outcome
Everything the clients had hoped for within the design of the extension had been achieved. A large open plan living space to cook, dine and relax had been created. Confident with BDS Architecture’s knowledge and expertise the clients went on to commission the project management and build of the extension.
